Spring forward on March 10 – with Bernie!

The head of psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Univ said Trump may be in pre-dementia – unable to finish a sentence without drifting off into distraction.

The people ahead of the government change their minds. The 245 Democratic votes to revoke the national emergency is a triumph of truth and humiliation for Trump. He goes to his corner as a clear and present danger as McConnell goes to his insider trading
Public spirit can be restored with community centers and taxation of the rich. Medicare, Medicaid, Pell grants, Low Income Housing Tax credits, HUD, SNAP, EPA, Department of Education, The Legal Corporation, WIC food assistance, the National Institute for Health, and school lunches are achievements, not excesses or frivolities to be punished!

Mudslinging + enriching the super-rich = cynicism and mistrust In the horse-sparrow theory, horses must be fed so the sparrows can live (cf. John Kenneth Galbraith). In Adam Smith’s invisible hand theory, the common good or public good happens when everyone pursues their self-interest. In truth, the economy exists for people and not the other way around! The economy is a part of life, not a sledgehammer crushing self-determination and creativity. In Chinese, the same Chinese letter represents crisis and opportunity.

Is Trump synonymous with burlesque government, by scandal, cynicism, and incompetence? He appointed the Eli Lilly CEO as Secretary of Health and Human Services after the price of insulin skyrocketed 300% in ten years! No, corporate profits do not equal community health.
The financial sector should be shriveled and the public sector expanded..

Spring forward. Truthfulness is like a leap across seventy thousand fathoms of water (Soren Kierkegaard). Trump’s resignation would be an act of political courage and would save the country trillions! One act of courage can be more important than a thousand sermons! (Dietrich Bonhoeffer)

In the 1960s, 40% of federal revenue came from corporate taxes. Today, it is 8%. What happens to the infrastructure when corporations shift billions of profits to tax havens like the Cayman Islands, Switzerland, and Delaware? America’s dance around the golden calf and the golden ego is the religion of money, light years away from defending the weak and marginalized!

Pence resisted federal aid for Hurricane Katrina.
Self-righteousness is the grand delusion (Eberhard Juengel) and makes his world into a 2-inch world

Jorg Goldberg wrote, “The Cure is the Sickness: The Washington Consensus” in 2001. Deregulation, privatization and liberalized markets (speculation) characterized the neoliberal model, led to the soft fascism of neocolonialism and structural adjustment and is now discredited.

Richard Sennett’s book “The Flexible Person” explores competition and cooperation and warns that persons could be used up like corn when they become flexibilized and pliant to the market. In “Rhinoceroses,” Ionesco wrote that rhinoceroses can speak but are silent because they fear being dragged off to work!

The economy exists for humankind and not vice versa!

The Twitterer is the incompetent and the clueless, who turns from policy and principle to opportunism and show.

Cutting everything but the military leads to cynicism and plutocracy, exploding inequality without countermeasures.

Returning the money to HUD, food stamps, the Dept of Education and the EPA, social security, Medicaid, Medicare would be signs of humanity and partnership.

Civil society and the world of nations laugh at the foul-mouthed Twitterer who pretends to be above the law, the Constitution, checks and balances and separations of power. The majority against his bull-headed “national emergency” is like writing on the wall or a wake-up call. He could redefine his term to “a full two-years” and spare the country the bitter fruits of corporate enrichment and social cuts.

Admitting incompetence and crimes and misdemeanors (like making the White House into a personal business) would be a sign of humility and respect for humanity. People begin again after acknowledging their buffoonery and 15 false claims a day (according to the Washington Post).

Democracy stands or falls with critical and independent media. The state should represent the public interest, fight poverty, remedy market failure and help those under the wheel.
Market distortions (tax havens, micro-second betting, stock buybacks) are ignored by a corrupt self-satisfied elite.
Trashing everything progressive (food stamps, Departments of Education and EPA, the Legal Corporation, Pell grants, HUD, WIC, Meals-on-Wheels, social security, Medicaid and Medicare) is perverse and only encourages cynicism and plutocracy.
Without social justice, life becomes a Sisyphus burden and double speak and double standards proliferate.
Those who don’t attend church service don’t commit the sin of making a fool out of the infinite selfless God (Soren Kierkegaard, 1813-1855).

The bull-headed and foul-mouthed thinks he’s above the law, the Constitution, checks and balances, human decency and self-correction. If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. If all you have is an out-of-control ego, other people are only hindrances and annoyances.

Trump’s GOP tax cuts give $8 tr5illion to corporations and households with over one million dollars – without hearings, compromises, concessions or countermeasures. Do we live under the rule of law or under the rule of Hocus Pocus or Humpty Dumpty where “words mean what I say they mean”?

Our economy is a tottering economy, not a booming economy – when the richest three men have more wealth than 160 million and when everything is cut except the military! The outside of the cup is cleaned and the inside is filthy!

Woe to reality when it gets in the way of ideology! The media is no longer a watchdog media but a lapdog media.
Sledge-hammers and wrecking balls replace foreign policy and domestic policy!
