In his inaugural speech in 2017, Donald Trump emphasized that his presidency would return political power to the people. He sees himself as the only legitimate representative of the interests of the supposedly true people and, according to the logic of this political self-understanding, he cannot actually lose any election. Should he lose it, however, this could only be the result of election manipulation.

DeepL.com and academia.edu could make everyone passionate researchers and formidable translators. Education is the great transformer, said economist John Kenneth Galbraith. Be a digital cloud worker with your selfless robot translator friend DeepL! Now I can translate 1600 pages a month, 8 books of nearly flawless translations!

In a reflection-less neoliberal world, the concentration of power and wealth has led to a pragmatic absolutism with no discussion of the meaning of life, shriveling the financial sector or the tax avoidance industry! The so-called return to capitalist normality is a return to the inequality machine of neoliberalism (cf. Piketty)!

The state should fulfill the public interest and not be the spoils for special or private interests. The welfare state is the human future and not a Bolshevist dystopia. Taxes is the price we pay for living in a republic, said Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes. Education, health care and affordable housing require an active state and cannot be left to the market. Tax havens, stock buybacks, micro-second trading and insider trading are market distortions

Recognizing the rights of nature and de-accelerating are imperative. Profit-making is very different from profit-maximizing. In the neoliberal model, profits explode while investments stagnate. Economics is redistribution. Preserving nature and countering global climate change require an active state committed to the welfare of future generations.
