A “descent society” came out of the former ascent society of the postwar…

What appears here is another form of democracy, without the constitutional state and without opposition. Trump could operate with enemy declarations. Politics in the state of emergency could become the normal case in the West.

With the Donald Trump government, the US has become part of the problem from being part of the solution. The Western left faces a similar challenge as in the 1930s. Today Donald Trump is a radicalized Nixon. Democracy is always endangered and never given as a present. It is not too late to understand this.

  1. Marc says:

After his three Atlantic City casinos went under in 1995, he received almost $1 billion in tax rebates for the next 14 years. Economic growth can be “jobless growth” or jive without separating out speculation, tax, and insurance fraud. The $21-32 trillion hidden in tax havens creates revenue shortfalls in cities and states.

Human rights are a check on government abuse and unconstitutional laws. Some criminal Muslims does not prove all Muslims are criminal. The wealth of the West is based on the exploitation and oppression of the South. The US has a welcoming tradition and not only a tradition of fear. The West spends $1 trillion on the military to preserve global inequalities, not to remedy inequalities. Do we only see the speck in our neighbor’s eye and not the log in our own eye?

The egomaniac could see China as the dust on his table and a global economic collapse as an ocean breeze! Trump could be classified as a “5051,” an insanity case, and be quarantined. As a short-term people timid in criticizing and convinced survival means adjusting and capitulating, we become path-dependent. It only took Trump 8 days to convince the majority he wasn’t trustworthy!
